An easy tramp of four hours from North Egmont to Maketawa Hut. The tramp will take you along the track from North Egmont to Maketawa Hut for lunch. There are excellent views of Egmont summit and the surrounding plains from the hut. The return to North Egmont may be via the continuation of the track to the base of the Puffer and down the Translator Road.
